We finally have new flag poles. A new sign was put up in front of the school and this required moving our flag poles. The poles have been down since the end of October. When we arrived at school today our new flags were proudly flying.

For Valentine’s Day I challenged my students to create an animal using only hearts. This is Ryan’s cobra.

I didn’t take this picture today, but it is one of the last photos I took of Oreo, my bunny. She died this morning while I was at school. She was a very sweet bunny who will be greatly missed. I dread having to tell my students tomorrow that Oreo won’t be coming back to school.

Well we finally got some snow. It has been 20 years since we’ve had real snow in Savannah. The snow began around 9:00 pm and was over by 11:00. They had predicted it would snow most of the night. All the kids in the neighborhood were outside playing in the snow. We had hoped we would get the 1 to 3 inches that had been predicted, but all snow was gone by morning.

The sun was setting as I headed home. I took this shot as I was waiting to turn onto my street.

We went back to Calhoun Square still searching for the prize. Today we focused more on Massie. We didn’t find the treasure, but we were in the right place. The prize was found under the steps.

The have begun talking about the possibility of snow Friday night. I just had to take a picture of these clouds. The whole sky was covered.

The Savannah Morning News had a contest to celebrate their 160th birthday. There were clues printed in the paper leading you to a $1,000 prize. Louise and I spent several days in Calhoun Square searching for the prize. This is a shot of some of the townhouses in downtown Savannah.
