Cynthia and I spent some time today at a dock in Thunderbolt taking photos. I was playing around with the settings on my camera trying to learn more about it. I was taking a shot of some barnacles on these logs and got my shadow in the picture.
To celebrate Georgia Day, each of my students selected one of Savannah’s squares to study. They had to draw a picture that represented their square. They then colored the picture with fabric crayons and I transferred it to cloth. Each child then quilted their pillow. With my assistance, each child then used the sewing machine to sew a back on their pillow. The stuffed pillows were displayed in the gym for our Georgia Day Tea. The child were very proud of their work and the parents were impressed.
I’ve been wanting to share these, but just never had the time to stop and take the pictures. They’ll be coming down at the end of the week, so I decided to go ahead and take the pictures. My students enjoyed learning about penguins.
Here it is Groundhog’s Day 2010. Our local groundhog didn’t see his shadow as it was a wet and dreary day in Georgia. We’ll have to wait to see if spring is right around the corner.
The DPS challenge today was to take a picture of something orange. Orange is not one of my favorite colors. If I were at school I could tale a picture of the orange projector attached to my Promethean board, but I’m not at school. I went looking for something orange and there was Oreo’s bowl. She sure enjoys eating her “Cheerios” out of this bowl.
These trees are in my backyard. I was out looking for something interesting to shoot and these trees grabbed my attention.
Okay I didn’t take this photo today. This photo was from earlier in the month when I was out geocaching. This is part of the trail around the oceanographic center. I love the texture of the rocks and the rings being used to hold the rocks in place.
The price of gas has dropped this week. I hope the trend continues. I didn’t even notice the airplane in the background when I took the photo.
Tuesday was our 100th day of school. It is hard to believe how quickly the year is passing. This is the cake that Rachel’s mom made to help us celebrate this special day.
Progress is being made. The cement has been poured and the foundation is laid for our new flag poles. We are awaiting the placement of the poles.
